Our coyotes in the northeast are among the biggest and are trapped late in the season for the thickets coats. All pelts in this category are well-furred and of an average size, around 34" from nose to the base of the tail. All are prepped for taxidermy, with the eyes, lips, and ears split.

The "coywolf" DNA is strong with this one! Every now and then I come across a really big one, over 38". These are typically the oldest, most dominant dogs in the area but still have a quality coat. I trap all my coyotes late in the winter for the thickest coat.

In Pennsylvania, we have two distinct species of foxes: the red and grey. Grey foxes are the smaller of the two, and are almost cat-like in behavior and appearance. All my greys are about the same size, around 23" long and with a lovely red-ticked plush coat. Some have black or red patches, almost resembling a small cross fox. All my foxes are wild caught.

The larger of our two fox species in Pennsylvania, red foxes are a common sight in our forests and farmlands. They tend to vary in color slightly, with some being more brown or with more black on the legs than other individuals. All measure at least 25" excluding the tail. All my foxes are wild caught.

With their small size and thick fur, mink make an excellent starter mount! It's easy to hide stitching and their anatomy is equally simple. All my mink are wild caught and may have minor "battle scars" from fighting. They are not sold if this will make for an unattractive mount. Average 16" minus tail.

Opossums are plentiful in Pennsylvania and generally have a good coat! I only sell complete specimens with no naturally-occurring frostbite damage. The younger, smaller ones haven't gone through a hard winter yet and thus are in the best condition. I try not to harvest young animals of any species, but small opossums often do not survive the winter.

As the most common animal I catch, opossums tend to make up most of my stock. I specify if the animal is appropriate for taxidermy, and if not they are sold for fur only. Any opossum sold for taxidermy purposes is guaranteed to have no frostbite damage to the ears or tail!

Like most critters in PA, we grow big opossums too! We are near the northernmost edge of their range and sometimes get a giant. Opossums in this category are typically old males and measure in excess of 18" not including the tail. Please note as these are big nasty guys, they are likely to have a rough coat and minor frostbite damage.

The eastern subspecies makes for an excellent taxidermy specimen, with their stout bodies and thick tails. Ours are on the large side and have some variation in their grizzled coats. All hides in this category will have lip and eye skin, turned ears, etc... All set for easy rehydration and mounting! Or, if you'd prefer, I can also mount the critter just to your liking.

Although the typical Pennsylvania raccoon is already an impressive size, we do occasionally find them even bigger! By purchasing from this category you are guaranteed an animal that is about as big as they come, and this section may not be available very often. Like the other hides, it is ready for taxidermy or commission mounting with split ears, eyes, lips, etc. Please note due to these mostly being old males, they are not as soft as a typical raccoon and may have some scarring.

Squirrels make an excellent practice specimen, and our hunting season in Pennsylvania is placed for the best possible coat! Some of our squirrels have orange patches on them, making them almost resemble fox squirrels. They do grow quite large, ranging from 9"-13" depending on age. All have a full tail and ears will be partially turned.

Hear me out... These things make cool mounts! I enjoy hunting them and in the early summer months they still retain a decent coat. They average around 18" minus the tail and and surprisingly soft. They do vary in color, with some being much darker than others, which are more golden. All have a dark face.
I am a firm believer in treating every animal I encounter with utmost respect, which means I not only kill them as quickly as possible but I also test each trap on myself. If I can't stick my bare hand into a trap without excessive pain I simply do not use them!
My traps are checked in the early morning hours, ensuring the nocturnal species are only caught for a few hours before dispatch. Specifically, I shoot each animal I'd like to keep in the brain which kills them instantly. Animals which are not my target species or do not meet my standards are released unharmed immediately. I also utilize a series of cage-style traps.
A set of carcass measurements and rehydration instructions are included with each animal purchased. I recommend for you to rehydrate and stretch the skin before you order the form just to be safe!
I'm a simple taxidermist and sell mainly to hobbyists. I sell my furs by size range, and not necessarily a technical grade. All of them are guaranteed to be free from mats, rubs, and other cosmetic defects. I harvest them when they are as close to prime as possible, but there may be individuals either pre- or post-prime.
Commission is an informal term in the art and taxidermy communities that just means "I mount for you". Otherwise, the lowest price listed is the cost of the hide alone. The commission price does NOT include shipping! Please make every effort to pick your finished product up in person as shipping can cost hundreds of dollars more.
Half of the commission price is due at sale. If you have harvested the animal yourself, please see the appropriate category on the main page for more specific pricing. If you purchase an animal for a commission mount you may cusmtomize it in any way a hunter would!
